Ingredients
- 1/2 pound / 200 gr tamarinds
- 2 quartz / 2 lt water
- 2 cloves
- ¼ nutmeg
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2-3 sage sticks
- A pinch of linden tea
- 1 peice of ginger root
How to make Tamarind Sherbet (Demirhindi Serbeti)
- Peel the tamarind and soak in water overnight.
- The next day, mix the damp tamarind with the cloves, cinnamon, linden tea, nutmeg, sage sticks, honey, ginger and sugar.
- Boil the mix for 1.5 hours.
- Take it off the heat and let it cool.
- Sieve the sherbet.
- You can also serve it with ice.
