Tamarind Sherbet (Demirhindi Serbeti)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound / 200 gr tamarinds
  • 2 quartz / 2 lt water
  • 2 cloves
  • ¼ nutmeg
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2-3 sage sticks
  • A pinch of linden tea
  • 1 peice of ginger root

How to make Tamarind Sherbet (Demirhindi Serbeti)

  1. Peel the tamarind and soak in water overnight.
  2. The next day, mix the damp tamarind with the cloves, cinnamon, linden tea, nutmeg, sage sticks, honey, ginger and sugar.
  3. Boil the mix for 1.5 hours.
  4. Take it off the heat and let it cool.
  5. Sieve the sherbet.
  6. You can also serve it with ice.
  7. ENJOY!
